Life Goes On: Voices from Cape Town (2008) is a 13 minutes short documentary produced by Regina Kessy (Tanzania) and me, Anna Larsson (Sweden), which explored an alternative mode of representation.

 

We as filmmakers do not tell the story, instead we allow diverse stories to arise from residents of a town we visited for two months. We wanted to see life from the point of view of our "subjects." Too often documentaries carry the biases of the funders and the filmmakers. Life Goes On is a window to the authentic realities of people like us. Here we meet eight people.
